Nestled in the heart of Benidorm on Carrer Xaló, Restaurante Amanecer offers an authentic slice of Spanish culinary tradition that truly captures the spirit of Alicante’s bustling local food scene. This charming eatery is a haven for anyone looking to dive into honest, flavorful Spanish cuisine served with warmth and sincerity.
The moment you step inside Amanecer, you’re welcomed by a vibrant yet homey atmosphere that hums with the energy of local workers and regulars alike—proof of its authenticity and popularity. The lively buzz is part of the experience here, where hearty conversations mix with the clinking of glasses, creating a convivial space that invites you to relax and savor every bite.
The menu reflects the best of traditional Spanish cooking, featuring dishes that delight the senses with bold, fresh flavors and carefully balanced textures. Reviewers frequently recommend the shrimp salad—a refreshing, ocean-fresh starter bursting with citrus and tender, plump shrimp that awaken your palate. Equally unmissable are the expertly grilled meats, seared to perfection and seasoned just right, showcasing rustic flavors that remind you of home-cooked goodness.
One of Restaurante Amanecer’s standout features is its legendary menú del día, a thoughtfully curated four-course lunch that combines variety, quality, and exceptional value. For just €13, diners indulge in a hearty progression of dishes, which, as one guest highlighted, might include a velvety gazpacho, tender roast chicken, and a decadent chocolate and coffee mousse to finish—a sweet farewell that lingers delightfully on the tongue. The generous portions and balanced pricing make it an ideal spot for both workers grabbing a quick meal and food lovers seeking a rewarding culinary experience.
The tapas here are another gem: a plate of your choice at €6.50 accompanied by a drink, and you're set for a memorable midday treat. Far from the typical bar snacks, Amanecer’s tapas are authentic, thoughtfully prepared, and served with genuine hospitality. It’s no surprise the place fills up early with locals eager to enjoy this daily ritual.
Service at Restaurante Amanecer is as commendable as the food. Attentive and efficient without ever feeling rushed, the staff enhance the overall dining experience by being both knowledgeable and friendly, ensuring you feel right at home whether you’re dining solo, with friends, or family.
For those who appreciate the charm of “Benidorm’s best-kept secret,” Amanecer delivers every time. It’s a genuine Spanish restaurant where atmosphere, taste, and value come together seamlessly. Whether you come during the bustling lunch rush or a calmer evening, expect to be greeted by a space full of heart and tradition. If you’re looking for a place where every dish tells a story and every visit feels like coming home, Restaurante Amanecer is a destination you’ll want to return to again and again.

Benidorms best kept secret. A proper out of the way Spanish restaurant. Good food at sensible prices. Always nice proper tapas when you stop for a drink, even if you are English. And it's not peanuts or crisps. Menu of the day is 4 courses and a bottle of wine for 13€. We'll be going back again in due course.

Very well run, we ordered the full menu del día for 13€ and we were stuffed. This might become our local lunch place. My highlights were the gazpacho, roast chicken and chocolate and coffee mousse. Yummy!
